NEEPCO Apprentice recruitment notification has been released for 98 Apprentices for the year 2025-26. NEEPCO apprenticeship is a very good opportunity for engineering, diploma, general graduate and other technical degree holders to learn about the operations in power sector. It is a 12-month on-the-job training with a stipend of Rs. 14,877 to Rs. 18,000 per month, depending on the job or trade. Candidates with minimum age of 18 years with required qualifications can apply for this job before 8th November 2025.

North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited (NEEPCO) is a government owned power company established in 1976. NEEPCO is a Miniratna Category-I Central Public Sector Enterprise and the subsidiary of NTPC Ltd. During the training apprentices will involve in assisting with operational and technical tasks at power stations or corporate offices.

Eligibility Criteria for NEEPCO Apprenticeship for 2025-26

The details about the educational qualifications and age limits for NEEPCO Apprenticeship are discussed below:

Educational Qualifications

• Graduate Apprentice: Candidates with minimum 40% in BE or equivalent degree in Engineering/Technology from Statutory University or institution empowered by Parliament and completed not before 31st March 2024 are eligible for this post.

• Technician Apprentice: Candidates with 40% in Diploma in Engineering/Technology from State Council/Board, University, or recognised Institute and completed not before 31st March 2024 are eligible for this post.

• Graduate (General): Candidates with minimum 35% in B.A., B.Sc. and B.Com. from a recognised university and completed not before 31st March 2024 are eligible for this post.

• Trade Apprentice: Candidates who have completed ITI in Electrician, Lineman and Plumber are eligible for respective posts.

Note: Along with the graduation/diploma/ITI marksheet and pass certificate, the relevant certificates of 10th, 12th and any one of the Aadhaar Card (compulsory)/PAN Card/Voter ID Card/Passport should be kept ready for document verification.

Age Limit

• Minimum 18 years
• Maximum 28 Years
• Cut off date – 01-09-2025

• Age relaxation as per Govt. of India rules for SC, ST, OBC, PwDB, and Ex-Servicemen.

Domicile:

• Candidate should be a resident of North East India; preference to state of the concerned power station. For that, candidates must have a valid residential proof document.

Note: Candidates who have already undergone such type of training/experience of one year or more are not eligible to undergo the training as per the Apprenticeship Act.

• For ITI Trade Apprentices:
  1. Register on NAPS Portal – https://www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in.
  2. Obtain valid enrolment ID.

Stipend and Job Profile as an Apprentice in NEEPCO

Post-wise Stipend Details:

• Graduate Apprentice (Engineering): Rs. 18,000 per month for the 1-year apprenticeship duration under the Apprenticeship Act, 1961.​
• Technician Apprentice (Diploma): Rs. 15,000 per month for the 1-year apprenticeship duration.​
• Graduate Apprentice (General – BA/BSc/BCom): Rs. 15,000 per month for the 1-year apprenticeship duration.​
• Trade Apprentice (Electrician/Lineman/Plumber): Rs. 14,877 per month for the 1-year apprenticeship duration.

Note: Stipend is credited only after successful joining and document verification, as per scheme rules.​ No TA/DA is payable for reporting; keep the registered email active for call letters/advices. Aadhaar-seeded bank account is mandatory for stipend credit.

Job Profile – Life as an Apprentice in NEEPCO:

• Graduate Apprentice (Engineering – Electrical/Mechanical/Civil/IT)
  • One-year plant-based apprenticeship across hydro/thermal/solar projects focusing on exposure to operations, maintenance support, project execution assistance, and basic IT/technical tasks under supervision at the allotted station.​
• Technician Apprentice (Diploma – Electrical/Mechanical/Civil/IT)
  • Hands-on assistance in routine section activities, maintenance logs, and discipline-specific support aligned to the allocated power station/department.​
• Graduate Apprentice (General – BA/BSc/BCom)
  • Station/corporate office support functions including documentation, clerical assistance, and coordination within assigned units as per advertised streams and locations.​
• Trade Apprentice (Electrician/Lineman/Plumber)
  • Shop-floor/field assistance strictly in the designated trade at the specified station against the opportunity code under NAPS.​
• Governance and limits
  • Engagement is purely for 1 year under the Apprenticeship Act, 1961; it is not a regular job and does not confer employment rights after completion.

Selection Process of NEEPCO Apprentice Recruitment 2025-26

The selection process for NEEPCO Apprentice Recruitment for the financial year 2025-26 are given below:

• Selection based on merit of marks obtained in qualifying degree/diploma/ITI.
