Eligibility Criteria for ARIAS Society Recruitment: Who is TRULY Qualified?
Essential Qualification:
Hydrology Specialist (1-PIU)
- Essential Qualification:
- Postgraduate degree in Hydrology, Water Resources, Soil & Water Conservation Engineering, Irrigation Engineering, Geology, Earth Science, Environmental Science, or any related field.

Gender Specialist (1-PIU)
- Essential Qualification:
- Postgraduate degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Gender Studies, or a related discipline from a recognized institution.
- Experience & Desired Skills:
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in gender mainstreaming at mid or senior levels, preferably in ADB, World Bank, JICA, or other donor-funded projects in rural or remote areas. Strong communication skills in English and local language are essential, along with proven cross-cultural competence. Experience working with Indigenous Peoples, government officials, CBOs, and NGOs is highly valued.
- Expert Note on Eligibility:
- Candidates must hold a relevant postgraduate degree and possess hands-on experience in implementing gender-inclusive policies or programs. Professionals with experience in international donor-funded projects and strong interpersonal and community engagement skills will be given preference.
Livelihood Coordinator (5-CPIUs)
- Essential Qualification:
- Postgraduate degree in Livelihoods, Entrepreneurship Development, Food Security, Agriculture and allied fields (Agricultural Extension), Agribusiness, Value Chain Development, Rural Development, Social Sciences, or a related discipline.
- Experience & Desired Skills:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in implementing livelihood promotion interventions such as skills development, micro-lending, micro-savings, employment generation, and social protection initiatives. Experience in setting up economic cooperatives, managing cash transfer or grant programs is desirable. Prior work with ADB, World Bank, or other donor-funded development projects will be an added advantage. Supplemental training in Income Generation, Entrepreneurship, Gender Mainstreaming, or Microfinance is preferred.
- Expert Note on Eligibility:
- Applicants must hold a relevant postgraduate qualification and demonstrate substantial field experience in livelihood enhancement and rural economic development. Candidates with exposure to donor-funded livelihood programs and proven capacity in community-based enterprise or value chain promotion will be given preference.
ARIAS Society Selection Process: Written Test and Interview Strategy
Selection process for Hydrology Specialist, Genden Specialist and Livelihood Coordinator may be conducted in three stages. The stages are:
Stage 1: Written Test
- In this stage, technical MCQs will be asked related to the relevant fields. Topics related to hydrology, water resources, and soil & water conservation will be asked in Hydrology Specialist exam; topics related to development studies, social sciences, and other relevant topics will be asked in Gender Specialist exam; and topics related to livelihood, entrepreneurship development, food security, agriculture, and other related topics will be asked in Livelihood Coordinator exam. Also topics related to SWIFT project will be asked.
Stage 2: Personal Interview
- In this stage, the interviewer will check the technical knowledge and past experience in their respective fields and may ask personal questions to test the quality of the candidate.
Stage 3: Document Verification
- The verification will be conducted on the day of personal interview. Candidates must present all the original certificates or documents along with the self-attested copies of the original documents.
Note: Depending on the shortlisted candidates, department will conduct either only personal interview or both.
Salary or Remuneration in ARIAS Society Job
- The remuneration for the Hydrology Specialist, Gender Specialist and Livelihood Coordinator are same i.e. Rs. 6.60 to Rs. 10.80 Lakh per year, which may be Rs. 55,000 to Rs. 90,000 per month.
